Wiki Guides How drop chances work
How drop chances work
The drop tables in this wiki show the chance per kill for a player whose level equals the monster's level, at the server's standard item rate, without premium and without a drop event. This page explains what changes that number.
Level difference
- A monster at your own level drops with 100 % of the listed chance.
- A monster higher than you gives more.
- A monster below you gives less, and from about 8 levels under you the chance drops quickly.
- A monster 15 or more levels below you gives almost nothing: 1 % of the listed chance.
Kinds of drops
The "How" column of a drop table tells you how an item drops:
| How | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Drop | Each item rolls on its own. |
| Kill drop | The monster drops one item of a group, picked by weight. |
| Level drop | Only from the player level shown. A fixed chance: level difference and item rate do not change it. |
| Only with Thief's Gloves | Only while you wear Thief's Gloves or have the premium item bonus. |
| Extra drop | The monster's special drop item. |
| Spirit stone | Metin stones drop a random spirit stone type; its grade (+0 to +4) is rolled when the stone appears. |
Common drops
Every normal monster of a rank (Pawn, Strong pawn, Knight, Strong knight) can also drop the common items listed for your level range. Bosses have no common drops. See for example the common drops of Pawns.
Bonuses
- The premium item bonus and Thief's Gloves double the chance of every roll that the level difference affects.
- An item-drop event on the server raises these chances too.
Level drops are not affected: their chance stays fixed.
Chests and boxes
The "Contains" list on a chest page shows what opening it gives. A chest either gives one item picked by weight, or every line rolls on its own; the page says which.
