Ranked guild wars

Ranked guild wars are open guild-against-guild battles with matchmaking, a rating per guild, divisions and 30-day seasons. Any number of members can fight, but each side needs at least 5.

Opening the ranked panel

Open the guild window and click Ranked Wars on the guild information page. The panel opens attached to the guild window and has four tabs: Overview (rating, division, rank, season record, penalties), Queue, Rankings and History.

Requirements

WhoRequirement
Guildat least 5 members, no classic war or war declaration running
Queueonly the guild leader or a general can join or leave the queue
Playerlevel 50 or higher, member of the guild for at least 3 days

How a match runs

  1. Queue. The leader or a general clicks Join. Matchmaking pairs guilds of a similar rating; the longer you wait, the wider the search.
  2. Match found. Every online member gets a popup. You have 90 seconds to click Accept. At the end each side needs at least 5 accepted players.
  3. Preparation (2 minutes). Both guilds are told everywhere and get an Enter arena button. Members who did not accept can still join late, during preparation and during the fight.
  4. Fight. First guild to 50 kills wins. After 15 minutes the higher score wins. An equal score goes to 5 minutes of overtime where the next kill wins; if it is still equal, the side that reached that score first wins. At 0 - 0 both guilds lose. There are no draws.

Each side must have at least 5 players inside when the fight starts and while it runs. A side below 5 for 60 seconds in a row loses by forfeit. The result is announced to the whole server.

Rules in the arena

  • Only opposing roster members can hurt each other: no friendly fire, no spectators.
  • Mounts are not allowed.
  • Not moving or attacking for 45 seconds gives a warning; after 90 seconds you are removed and cannot come back.
  • During a match its players cannot leave or be kicked from the guild, and the guild cannot be disbanded.

Rating, divisions and seasons

Every guild starts at 1500. The kill margin does not matter, only the win or loss. After 5 placement matches the guild gets a division:

DivisionRating from
Bronze0
Silver1350
Gold1500
Platinum1650
Diamond1800
Champion1950, and a top-10 rank
  • The same two guilds meet at most twice per 24 hours, not within 2 hours of each other, and repeated matches give less rating.
  • A season lasts 30 days. Then ratings move halfway back toward 1500 and every guild plays one calibration match.
  • Guilds idle for 14 days are hidden from the rankings.

Penalties

  • A forfeit is a full loss; the winner gets half the normal gain.
  • Declining a match, not reaching 5 accepted players or not showing up gives the guild a strike. Strikes within 24 hours lock the queue for 5, 15 and then 60 minutes.
  • After leaving the queue you wait 30 seconds before joining again.
  • Matches cancelled by a server problem count for nothing: no rating change, no penalty.

Rewards

At the end of a season each guild gets prestige points by division (Bronze 10, Silver 20, Gold 40, Platinum 70, Diamond 110, Champion 160), and the top divisions get a season title. Season rewards are cosmetic or prestige only. Ranked matches also give guild experience: see Guild levels from guild wars.
